Imagination Library of Greater Houston partners with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to deliver FREE, high-quality books directly to children's homes and works alongside healthcare providers, libraries, schools, and community organizations to support families.

By age five, about 90% of a child's brain has already developed.
Every time a parent reads a story, sings a song, asks a question, or shares a conversation, they’re helping build the brain connections that support language, learning, emotional well-being, and lifelong health.

A book creates moments of closeness between a parent and child. It sparks conversation. It introduces new words. It encourages curiosity. It becomes part of a bedtime routine, a cuddle on the couch, or a quiet moment after a long day.
Those moments may seem small, but they're helping build a child's brain one story at a time. That's why we don't think of this as simply a book program.

Every Family Needs Books
Every child deserves the chance to fall in love with books. Every parent deserves resources they can use at home.
Families enrolled in the program receive a FREE, personalized book each month from birth through age five. Parent Reading Tips are included in every delivery. They can also choose a fully bilingual English-Spanish book collection, making it easier for more families to share stories in the language they know and love.
